Hello♪
This is the CSR Team with another volunteer activity update!
We heard about a litter-picking event around Shibuya Modi department store, so we recruited some staff from Newport and got to work.
We connected with Shibuya Modi through the Youth Climate Change Conference, and they kindly accepted our request to join!
The litter-picking was actually part of an internal walking promotion initiative by Shibuya Modi, whereby they encouraged their own staff to pick up trash as they excercized.
So, Newport staff participants got a nice workout while cleaning up the streets of Shibuya Ward ☆彡
The streets were cleaner than expected, but there were many small pieces of litter like cigarette butts and toothpicks. We looked hard and found as much trash as we could!
In about 40 minutes, we walked over 6,000 steps while picking up litter, covering a distance of more than 4 km! It got our blood flowing and was a great start to the day!
It was a great opportunity to collaborate with companies in Shibuya, and we hope to participate in more collaborations in the future♪
Check back for more reports of our volunteer activities!
