At Newport, we calculate our annual CO₂ emissions from commuting and business trips, as well as from each stage of logistics—including importation, shipping, and warehousing—and take actions to offset these emissions by contributing to forest conservation organizations. This helps us minimize our environmental impact as much as possible.

Through these activities, we aim to achieve a sustainable business model. Among the initiatives we have successfully implemented to reduce emissions, our primary focus has been on imports, which constitute the largest portion of our CO₂ emissions. To address this, we've increased the quantity per shipment to reduce the frequency of imports and implemented careful, strategic importing based on accurately identifying sales volumes and popular products to avoid excess inventory. These actions have significantly reduced unnecessary transportation and consequently our CO₂ emissions.

Additionally, since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, remote work and online meetings have become standard practices, prompting us to reconsider travel and commuting that were previously taken for granted. As a result, we've successfully reduced both travel costs and related CO₂ emissions.

We feel that these initiatives contribute not only to environmental sustainability but also to leaner and more efficient business operations. Moving forward, we intend to expand these efforts gradually, starting with what we can immediately implement.

Below, we're sharing our CO₂ emissions data for the past four years to clearly communicate our commitment as a company to reducing environmental impact.

We will continue regularly reporting on our sustainability initiatives, so be sure to check back for more soon.
