Youth Climate Change Conference: Newport at the 2nd Shibuya Environmental Symposium

In continuation of the 1st Shibuya Environmental Symposium Youth Climate Change Symposium on January 26, Newport was honored to participate in the second symposium on Wednesday, February 5.

Mr. Masukawa, who is in charge of energy-saving diagnostics at the Tokyo Global Warming Prevention Activity Promotion Center (Cool Net Tokyo), gave a lecture on specific energy-saving activities and subsidies to promote decarbonization.

After that, various presentations were conducted, including the screening of the award ceremony video for the "Shibuya Sustainable Award 2024."

Companies that had previously won the "Shibuya Sustainable Award" were then asked to present their initiatives. Newport won the Excellence Award in 2021, so we gave a presentation on the development of our EMS (Environmental Management System) and how we manage our EMP (Environmental Management Program).

Members of the 'Youth Climate Change Conference,' who visited Newport and other companies to learn about their environmental initiatives, presented ideas they hope many companies will implement based on what they learned during their visits.

Participating in the Youth Climate Change Conference was a valuable opportunity, and we are so glad to have been involved.

You can find a more detailed article on the symposium at Shibuya Ward's website.

Newport contintues its efforts to be a sustainable organization, and we will continue to promote our EMP activities with Shibuya Ward and beyond.
